A person has some printer cartridges still in their boxes never used but they are " Expired" Does the expiration date mean they are no longer any good or is it like other things they just put an expiration date on them because they have to but they are still good?

"They just put an expiration date on them because they have to but they are still good". There is no logic in this kind of thought because expiration dates serve a unique purpose. You can get real sick from food, liquids, medicines that have expired dates on them.

I can tell you with a new printer ink cartridge, if you don't use your printer enough and the expiration date is still good, the ink jets will clog or dry up and you wil have ink in the cartridge and it will not come out.

In reality nothing is gained or loss if you test them in your printer. No harm, as they will either work or not work.

A ink cartridge is not going to be taken via oral, no risk to your body.

Uhm, it is still usable to use expired cartridges, but it will work only for a short period of time. So you better to buy a new / not expired cartridges.

You can still use the ink, but it will probably be of lesser quality than that of newer ink. The expiration date is more like a "best if used by" date. Good luck!

They Shouldnt be a problem if it was in a sealed bag, However if they are ink tanks and dry up you can burn out the print heads, however if it is like the HP cartridges with the print heads attached to the tank you really have nothing to worry about.

no but the ink inside might have dried up, so the printer will not dertect it as being a new cartidge, and you'll have to buy a new cartridge.

The ink inside are tested for a period of time, once they out, the quality will degrade, so in theory they are still useable, just you may get lower quality printouts, if they are too old, then they may even clot the printheads

Ummm, try it. If they work, they are fine. If not, then they are no good.
