I think it is ridiculous...the women are the ones who should be saved from men..not the other way around. Its so unrealistic. I mean I guess it is okay if they are a villian though.

I dont think there will be any new Rock Heros. There are too many Genres and sub genres now that its almost impossible for a band to make an impact the way Guns and Roses or Nirvana did.A band that comes out today will be automatically classified into one of those sub genres, possibly turning off potential fans because of their classification. Remember when Cheap Trick claimed they were New Wave? Well, rock fans that didnt like New Wave quit liking Cheap Trick once that comment was made. Todays generation of music fans will not allow a band to make an impact.Once they band starts selling a lot of Cds,start playing in bigger venues, and get more radio play, they are automatically labeled a SELL OUT. Sad part is,I think as far as todays music is concerned, I've turned into my dad. Every time I come to R&P, I'm hearing about all these bands and how great they are,but no matter how many times I've given these bands a listen, I just cant get into them.

Sandy baby wake UP! In reality it's the WOMAN who holds the family together. The WOMAN who cleans up after her drunken husband and calls in "sick" to work for him. The WOMAN that raises the kids (I mean the man helps a bit but let's be honest, the hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world). It's the WOMAN who helps patch up family arguments, bad blood, puts a bandage on the scraped knee. Women rework the budget or even go to work when money's tight; women know frugality as though it were second nature; women work as hard as the man and take home less pay and still manage to wear a pretty smile and not just pick up a shoulder-mounted rocket launcher and start culling the masses.

It's not small wonder then that women make better super heroes. After all, if it weren't for us, you'd never find your damn TV remote let alone feed yourselves.

Took me awhile to find one. I have never been much on the superhero thing. They are all full of gratuitous violence. She wears the stereotypical Gypsy female dress, an off - the - shoulder blouse and a long flowing skirt and sandals. Her powers do not involve physical involvement.

She has ILLUSION CASTING abilities, which enable her to blend into her background or deceive her prey. Her abilities are TELEPATHIC in nature, and can affect only living beings. She can CAMOUFLAGE.

Gypsy also has the ability to PROJECT FRIGHTENING IMAGES into the minds of other people. These illusions usually show what the affected person fears most. This ability can affect other living things besides people, and Gypsy can use this ability in combat situations.

Gypsy is a skilled hand-to-hand combatant who has been trained by Bronze Tiger, and in issues of Birds of Prey Lady Shiva has offered to train her as well. Gypsy also has a strong aptitude in electronics and computers, and has become skilled in the use of firearms.

She can use her chameleon powers to CLOAK not only herself, but a moving vehicle and its passengers.

Gypsy also has PRECOGNITIVE abilities.

Now THIS is a heroine I could get behind. Her powers are of the mind so that she does not have to wear spandex or even show a lot of sjin!

I think you're off on this one, and not just because women should have the cool powers too, and be able to save people as well....

It's the tights man. ^_^ I should know, I was a bit of a gym rat back in the late 1980s, early 1990s....

And women *usually* just plain look better in spandex, ok? There are exceptions, don't get me wrong, but a *fit* woman with powers is *going* to rock the tight-n-shiny look *so much better* than her male counterpart.

*lol* But appearances aside....I have to wonder what rock you dragged this question out from under. Next thing you know you'll be saying women shouldn't vote or be allowed to work for money....geez dude, get a calendar, it's 2007, not 1907!

The rest of us have been there, done that, and now the ladies won't ever let us guys *forget about it*....where have you been?

Just asking. ^_^ Have a good one!

Who said? Where's tha golden rule? Women have all the rights of men. They are just as important. No, actually we are MORE important. Where would the world be with out women? It would be a war hell. All men do is argue and complain. We have all the rights to be heroines. One of my favorite authors, Tamora Peirce, only writes books with female lead characters, everyone of them is strong and independant. I feel sorry for the next guy who calls ME a damsle in distress.

I'm a bit surprised at your opinion on this one. I would think you'd approve. Women are supposed to be the ultimate caretakers, aren't they? Continuously striving to protect their children and family from harm? Couldn't you look at the female super hero as the superior mother figure? (Not that I see them that way, but it is a valid perspective.)

Sandstorm, sweetie

I think that is kinda cheesy being the heroine, even the female name for hero is kinda disturbing. Men shuold save a woman.

It is very ridiculous sweetheart.
Women just aren't strong enough to be a hero...even in cartoons or movies.
I don't think they should be a villain either because they'd just get defeated too easily so it wouldn't be much fun. Plus, the men should just be able to order her to stop doing evil things.
It would create a negative role-model for young girls also if the female villain didn't obey the men.
XOXO

I think we make pretty sexxi heroines and villains. What's wrong with having women to look up to who are strong, seductive, and good looking?
