This was one of Rene Descartes major struggles in his life, dealing with the possibility that he only existed in his thoughts. Philosophy is an interesting subject, and it is very subjective (no pun intended). Multiple definitions of existense have to be dealt with to answer this question correctly.

interesting question... wish i could have used this format to get the thoughts of my ex wife out of my head. anyways, to answer the question, no, sorry, won't happen. you are as well as i placed in this time line that we perceive as our existence, and we have no way to change it. and if we could change our time line, who is to say that it would be a better existence, it may be worse than what you are going through now. my old saying is : do with what you got and make the best of what you have. good luck in your search, but remember.... as far as i know, you only have shot at life, make the best of it.

if anyone has ever done it they've ceased to exist. we have no way of knowing b/c they're nonexistent.

It's a philosophical question, a somewhat poorly defined question at that. you aren't going to get a satisfactory yes or no answer.

No. There is obviously existence beyond one's thought; most of us sleep from time to time.
