Take good care of your pearls in case they are real!
1] If you gently rub them on your teeth, they will feel slightly rough.
2] Keep them in a cloth protective bag, or a lined jewelry box with other pearls. DON"T put them in with chains, etc.
3] Put your pearls on AFTER you use perfume, hairspray, etc.
4] Wear them periodically so they won't lose their glow.
4]Get them re-strung every 20 years or so.

If paint chips off and there is white plastic underneath, they are fake. For a full string of pearls, I think they can start at around $500 francs or 600 american dollars. If you want to be sure, take them to a regular outlet or mall jeweler next time you go and just keep them in your purse so that you can go in and ask. Also, real pearls aren't perfectly round, and they are slightly rough, so feel it with your best sensory organ for this kind of thing: teeth, which had to have had a better purpose than chewing fries or ice cubes and having an attractive smile.

First the natural or real pearl is costly. The shine and polish of real pearl never fades. If you rub pearl with anything does not get scratches and last option is go to a jewelers and get it done checked whether it is real or fake.

Bite into a pearl, and if you feel bumps then they are real, if it is smooth then it is fake. Pearls aren't %100 round.
