1. i started pointe a few months ago. I use toe pads and a little bit of lambs wool and its probably a good thing but i never get blisters and my feet never hurt in the shoes. Is there some reason why?

2. How do you know when to stop using lambs wool in your pointe shoes?

3.does the teacher or the fitter tell you that you dont need the wool anymore?

4.Wouldnt you have to get a smaller size shoe if you took the lambs wool out to take away the extra space from where the wool was?

5. i tried on my pointe shoes without the wool and just pads and it didnt really hurt it just felt like i needed a smaller shoe. I thought they were supposed to hurt really bad but they dont and its so much easier without the wool. Is there a reason for all of this???

1.) The pads and lambs wool are preventing your feet from sliding which prevents you from blisters, that and you are just lucky.

2.) You don't have to stop using lamb's wool. For some dancers it is very important to use it. It helps you fit better in your shoes and separate your toes from one another.

3.) No, you usually do. The teacher may see a difference in the way you dance with/without the wool. So then he/she may ask you to keep or stop using it.

4.) No, its just that it separates your toes so it fills up more of the box which when they are out it makes less pressure on your feet.

5.) It's all about the way you prefer it. Some say it is easier w/ wool, some say it is easier without. There isn't really a reason.

1) the reason is because your feet have padding and with out it you might get blisters

2)just like ktskins said some people can't ever get ride of their lambs wool, but if you do the first time you feet can get reallly hurt, so remember toa tape your toes.

3)no you just have to make that judgement on your own.

4)you usally have to get refitted for pointe shoes because with out the pads you usally go down a 1/2 size

5)some dancers do better without the wool beacause they feel that you can feel the floor better and then its easier

I danced 'pointe'for six years, until I was 14, and I still have problems from it! [ I am 51! ]
Always use padding. Do you know any 'old' dancers? In late 20s/early 30s?
Look at their feet! Corns, calluses, bunions, etc. Ugly and painful. Ask which ones use or don't use padding.

My toe pads are actually made of wool, with gel tips, and they are great! I don't know if that's what you have or if you tried that..if I don't wear pads, it hurts for me.

the toepads and lambs woll are there to protect your feet so you dont ever need to take it out. you should prob replace it when it starts looking worn out.
