If you actually care about sin, I'm sure u won't report me for saying this: Jesus' blood was shed for our sin. This is why we no longer give sacrifices, just repent. He is the ultimate sacrifice-sinless, holy, pure blood.

I do not. I understand the difference you mean between atonement and forgiveness. But unless you can go back in time and UNDO what you have done, there is no such thing as "making up for" your sins. Once an offence has been done, there is NO taking it back. You can repent and change your ways in the future, you can do good things, but they are simply good things. They cannot be applied to past sins to cancel them out. Your only hope for salvation (if that is what you seek) or even for restoration of a relationship is forgiveness. That is why Christians say they have put their hope in Christ. Forgiveness from God through the blood of Christ is their only hope for restoration. There are way to many scriptures to list here, but the most important is Hebrews 9:22 - with out the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin
By the way.. very neat question

There is no more a need to 'atone' for sins. When Jesus died, he paid the ultimate sacrifice. By sacrificing his life, we now do not have to make up for the sins we have done. We pray to ask for forgiveness and try REALLY hard never to do it again. Hope that kinda answers it. I just gave a simplified answer. Sorry, i am tired.

Why would one want to sacrifice an animal anyway? They are God's creatures too and don't deserve to pay for our mistakes. All we can do to atone is recognize what we have done wrong, forgive ourselves, and do whatever we can to right the wrong we've done. Yes, as humans, we may fail, but the continuous attempts at righting the wrong will eventually help us to atone.

The sacrifice of Jesus atoned for our sin. It's a done deal.

You can't atone for sins. that doesn't make any sense. it's something the OT Jews practiced as a symbolic act, it didn't actually "make up" for anything. It became obsolete in Christian history when Jesus made the final sacrifice.

before everything blood sacrifices weren't required for each sin. 2nd, all blood sacrifices have been required to be made interior the Temple of Jerusalem. when you consider that that development has been destroyed, there are no longer to any extent further any blood sacrifices. ultimately, G-d advised the Jews that prayer is an appropriate replace for a blood offering. See how straight forward it is.

yes. sacrificing is just one way of people to make up for their sins. they think that their sins will be "burned" or "go to heaven" like a smoke going on the sky. maybe when their sins goes up on heaven, God will "hear" their sins and He will forgive them. the best way you can do is to ask forgiveness to God and show him that you really want to be forgiven.

Sacrificing of animals was only needed in times before Jesus because the consequence of sin is death, and something had to die, so they sacrificed animals. Now, Jesus has died for everyone's sins, and he was the ultimate sacrifice, so when God looks for sin in us, he only sees the purity of Jesus, as Jesus paid for our sins, making us pure. The ONLY Way. The only way to have your sins covered is to ask Jesus to be your personal savior and that's it. but of course you have to mean it.

okay, first off, I'm a Christian, so it all depends on your beleif system, and what YOU personally believe.
i believe after you accept Jesus into your heart, you are redeemed from sin. therefore, i dont think you need to "make up for" sinning, because Jesus paid redemption by dying on the cross for our sins. If you mess up, pray, ask God for forgiveness, and if you're still feeling guilty, read your Bible.
