I think it sounds like a great job, and I'd love to get into it. I worked at Subway when I was in high school and I remember a lady coming in that was a secret shopper (she told me after I rang her up). Does anyone out there do this? And if so, what company do you work with?

Mystery Shoppers are all scams! I just pitched the 399th letter I got from them. They want $25 to screw u. You don't get squat.

If you got mail from them pitch it, and go to sleep.

Have a good weekend!

Yes. Go to Mysteryshop.org, they govern the mystery shopping industry.

They maintain a list of all of the legitimate mystery shopping companies.

I rarely Mystery Shop because it is time consuming and not worth the few dollars I will get.

You can start with the following Mystery Shopping list: http://www.volition.com/mysteryUSA1.html

If you ever have a problem with a MS company, go to mysteryshop.org and see if any other shopepr has had a problem with the company.

When I shopped I worked with the companies that where near where I live in NYC, because the shop companies were easily accessible by bus, subway or walking. If you have more questions, please post and I will try to answer them for you.

Good Luck.

A lot of these jobs are actually government and non-profit jobs. A housing equality action group that I know of hired people to go looking at apartments to figure out if the landlords were violating federal law by discriminating based on race, sex, or other factors. They needed both white and non-white secret shoppers.

It's a Scam! no legitimate company would need you to cash a check and send the money back to them. Any job offer that wants you to use your bank account to funnel money through is a scam. Also, yes you would be responsible for any monies owed to the bank when that check bounces.
