This is called super charging.

depends on how much pressure your putting into the intake. to much and the engine will self destruct. you should have a boost guage to make sure you dont over do it.

Forced induction can be used to increase the power of an engine or its efficiency, or both, without much extra weight. The ambient air that the engine is normally ingesting enters the compressor inlet of turbocharger or supercharger that is inline along the air intake tract. This effectively increases the pressure and density of the air, which allows for a much greater percentage of oxygen per volume of air intake to be added

Forcing air into your intake is exactly what a supercharger and turbos do. So in short no it is not bad and will give your engine more power when done right.

i own a shop and no its not bad that you force it in ,all it does is assure the engine gets a good supply of air,and this makes it mix the fuel and air mixture a lot better,it doesn't hurt it though that's for sure, but forcing it to take more air can make it use a little more fuel also, anytime it gets more air it needs more gas to make sure the mixture is right, but you have to give up something to gain on something else, good luck hope this helps.
