This is a hard one hun. First of all don't use regular soap because it will dry out your skin which will cause more pimples. Also don't use moisturizing soap because it will cause pimples. Wash your face with warm water and then use an acne soap one that is for your skin type. Then you need to rinse your face with cold or cool water to close your pores. Do this a couple of times a day. You can also use an acne cream.
Hope this helps. It worked for me

Ok. If you just have bacterial acne (not the big huge cystic acne) and its not too outta control you can use the bar soap phisoderm. My mother uses that, and has her whole life, and never breaks out, it is pretty cheap! She also uses witch hazel as a "toner" afterwards...that is also SUPER cheap

As far as proactiv, I tried it and it did nothing for me... but my sister uses it regiously! My aesthetician told me that, that works GREAT or not at all! There is no in between. So you can take the 30 day challenge.

If your acne is really bad, I would recommend going to your doctor and ask for an antibiotic and some differin gel (it works!)

I struggled with acne once I went to Iraq and it was a battle! I used soooo many products. One thing my aesthetician said is anything with camphor works great!! I am actually using products with camphor now and my skin is pimple free and the mask is getting rid of the redness.

Cheaper products with camphor is something like noxema.

Soap and water does not clear up acne at all its just cleans your face from dirt...if you want to clear your acne then I recomend using cetaphil cleanser (which was recommended to me by my dermatologist) then washing your face gently (no rubbing just slide your hands over your face gently because then youll irritate your skin which causes more acne), then apply a pretty big amount of Neutrogena on the Spot over face gently until it is absorbed by skin...takes about 2 min....then wait 5-10 minutes and after that apply cetaphil lotion....I've used this method for about 2 years now and I have a acne free skin.

i think that the pores get plugged and then a small infection occurs. so anything that would remove the blockage. like something with salcycic acid in it or some abravsive type of soap. i took pills when i was in my teens antibiotics. my sister had it real bad she took retinea that was a gel.then the doc gave her pills that are pretty new and very contraversal with teen suicide. she didnt have that side effect and it worked well . i cant remember the name it starts with an a oh ya accutaine.

use cleansers like w/ salycic (sp?) acid....be sure not to get a scrub...hard scrubs w/ break open that acne and scar. don't go over board, you can irrate ur skin...and moisturize!!! even tho you think, oil? on overly oily skin? yes, b/c when you use a wash it will deep clean and get rid of all that oil, if you don't use a light non comegenic (non clogging) moisturizer, ur skin will overly produce oil to make up for what was lost....remember balance....use medicated wash and lightly moisturize....u'll be fine, give it some time

I had terrible skin, and started washing my face with pure glycerine soap. It is cheap and it definatly works! Just make sure the cream you are using will moisturise without being too thick because it will then just clog your pores. Good luck.

No it doesn't. You need a cleanser that contains medication to clear acne. Better yet, use Proactive.
