I don't think it is....

just because Locke's dad thinks he is in hell doesn't mean that the island is hell... that is just what he thinks...

the others probably planned his "accident" ... (remember how Juliette' ex-husband got hit by a bus the day after she told that guy that she wished he would get hit by a bus)....

and remember Locke's dad said the ambulance attendant smiled at him while injecting something into his arm and then he blacked out and the next thing he knew he was on the island.... I think they drugged him and brought him to the island.....

Lost producers and writers have lied to us before, so the whole "TPTB say it is not purgatory" does nothing to convince me that something THIS major they would tell the truth about.

"The Brig" sure made it out that the island may be purgatory BUT it was so obvious in this episode that I'm thinking it is not purgatory or something similar.

Nooo!!!! I want them to go home!.........but maybe you're right.
Does this question come up because of the episode of last week?-If so, that woman that 'fell from the sky': I think she's one of 'the others' and she's tricking them on believing that they're dead......just my theory.
