No, because if you understand how the person is using it in context, you shouldn't be offended

Nope doesn't bother me at all...it's just a word. Words are just words. Anything said these day can be offensive to someone. The word retarded or retard doesn't have to mean they are slamming the people who are mentally challenged. It's just how people take it.

Nope, I would never think of calling a mentally ill person retarded, but I use the word all the time to describe people or situations that make no sense.

who are you to make up that rule? in the newspaper they use the term retarded and it's in the dictionary NOT as an insult but as a condition. it's also a word that i've heard health care workers use... perhaps you need to stop judging people for using the correct words just because you are "uncomfortable" with it. it's an acceptable word.

No because that's what kids say in school when they can't think of anything better to say. My brother will say something like "That's retarded." If things aren't going his way.

It bugs me, but if you go to my school, you hear it so often you stop acknowledging it. I'd just rather people didn't say it.

I think it's offending to call someone that. I'm guessing that they just don't know how lucky they have it.
