1) They do watch it. They just won't admit it.
2) Fox has broken their monopoly on the dissemination of information. They know that they are unable to compete in the free exchange of ideas.

Those who choose to only watch things that agree with their world view, will have a very limited perspective of the world.

As for the dems being afraid to debate on fox, well that really is a good thing, it shows AMericans that these people are not really capable of being a world leader, they are afraid of an open to the public questioning of what they think. Brit Hume is a fine journalist, not sure he is a repub and could even be a dem, but he is not remotely close to being biased like the other networks and mathews. I truly believe refusing to debate on Fox is going to hurt the dem/socialists.

If the people who answered truly believe that Fox has a bias in their news department, then they should look closely at Fox's ratings and ad revenue, Fox is continually improving in both while all of the others are declining. Now that clearly shows that AMericans are watching Fox more than the others. It has to be either Fox is seen as unbiased or AMerica has taken a decided turn to the right. The socialists cannot have it both ways.

and for Kevin - I cannot from this question assume anything about the posters political leanings, to do so what show a pure ingorance of the english language. Maybe because the phrase libs, but really it seems like all the little socialists want to be called libs rather than the truth, ie socialists. By stating that Fox is right clearly puts you in the far left of the political spectrum and you have clearly not paid any attention to the world. Fox is improving in ratings and revenue, the others are not. The mere fact that you answered in such a vociferous negative manner clearly shows your dislike for what Fox has accomplished and that in itself implies fear. SO get over it. Fox is either fair or AMericans are conservative, your choice mo.

The question itself, which I can only assume comes from a right-leaning or conservative individual, is a bold admission of the presence and type of bias that Fox News has. Typically, news organizations would hope their viewers appreciate their effort to present the news in a manner that takes into account differing views and would be shamed to be labeled left or right wing. Fox News constantly announces that they are "Fair and Balanced". However, a proud viewer of Fox News suggests in this question that liberal viewers might not enjoy or perhaps fear this network. I'm not saying other networks are not biased in some shape or form, but if this questioner is a representative sample of the typical Fox news enthusiast, it is becomes crystal clear that such viewers realize that bias and relish in it.

I don't think a person who is liberal or open to new ways of thinking would be afraid of a particular news organization, to answer the first part of the question. Fearing ideas is not a characteristic of a liberal or broad-minded person, if the title is actually descriptive and not used as a slur. If a person is open-minded (liberal) they would not wish to settle for a narrow viewpoint from a news organization whatever it is.

Why don't they watch it? It is right wing and favors one set of politics and ideas. That is distasteful to someone who is for open debate and dissent, debate that is not a shouting match, with members having their mics turned off, etc., but fair debate. When your news program is a mouth piece for a narrow minded view then those whose minds are open, endure rather than watch intently, such a program. Out of curiosity, I think all liberal thinkers view Fox News. Liberal viewers do not appreciate being told what to believe about a particular topic and therefore are unhappy to see it happen when it does on any network. Summary: Not Afraid, Watch Disapprovingly.

Maybe because they're the "visitors"? I think a candidate for office should be able to be on any channel, Fox, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS because that candidate would need to be known. Besides, it doesn't do the country good when one side decides to shut the other side out (both liberals and conservatives are guilty I think). I watch CNN and Fox News and I can listen to what they're saying; if I don't like it, I switch to the other. Then I form my own opinion based on what I watched. If liberals don't like Fox, it's a free country and you can watch what ever you want.

Fear doesn't have anything to do with it. Why waste time watching one of the most biased networks in news history? The rest of the news world and most journalists make fun of Fox on a regular basis, and they aren't all liberals either. Faux News is a joke, if I want to be amused I'll turn on the Comedy Channel. And by the way? I'm not even a liberal, or a Democrat. But biased news reporting from a news station that calls itself fair and balanced because no one else will is not my idea of where to get my news for the day. I'm not into having right wing fodder fed to me, I can make up my own mind about the issues. Just as soon as I find out what they are from another channel.

Because......"They can't handle the truth"! Seriously they have been spoon fed liberal slanted pablum news for so long that when the news is told in a "fair and balanced" way they can't understand it for what it is....news. The part I don't get is the people at Fox with a political biased are honest about it. But the people at CNN or MSNBC, who are obviously hard core liberals, report the "news" that way yet they deny it. C'mon people come out of the closet!

Afraid of it? Just because they don't trust Fox to hold a debate (Both the Democrat and Republican Debates were held on MSNBC remember) doesn't mean they are afraid of it. Consider the idea that FOX might not have enough credibility left to be taken seriously as a "News Channel" This is run by the same guy that promotes page three girls in London. If I were a serious candidate, I would want my message to go out on a channel that everyone takes seriously. Given those parameters, Fox would be way down on my list of likely venues.

Not afraid. Appalled. I have been known to watch it. Fox News does promote a partisan agenda, and Rupert Murdoch is unapologetic about it. It's more "spin" than "news," so I prefer to go elsewhere to get real news.

Do you know who owns Fox News? Get a grip!

That's not fear, that's disdain, disgust, and disapproval directed at a 'news' station that doesn't even attempt to hide its political bias.

I don't fear Fox News...but I do fear for this nation, that so many people accept what they hear there without question. I guess it's just so much easier to regurgitate someone else's opinion than to think for one's self.
