Im 12 years old, in grade 6, both in Level H, or grade 8 math and reading. Its annoying, and gets in my way when im doing my homework, and it piles up all the time, and i never get a vacation! Why do we have to do this?

I really think that parents want them to succeed at school and to build confidence in the classroom.I I think though that kids should not be filled with so many activities after school .It burns them out. Kids need time to be kids which is more beneficial at this stage of their lives.

I forced my three kids tooo!!!..but I am not sorry! They are top math students, unlike me. So many jobs and activities I never could do because i had such a terrible skill in math. Even going out with friends when we split the bill , calculate the tax, the tip.. I always let my kids or friends do it because I don't want to make a mistake!!! It's embarrasing..I never wanted my kids to feel that way and so when Kumon came around, I jumped on it for them.
I've made them do a lot of stuff from washing their hands before touching food to doing extra work..not to make their lives miserablem although they think that is why!
When you parents were younger there just weren't so many ways to help kids..so now they just want to see you exceeed!
Good luck and when you are in Honors math, then you'll thank them! Hang in there!

I quit Kumon when I was around 14 (a few years ago). I just told my mom that I am not going to go, and even if she forces me, I am not going to do the work. And it's sooo expensive too! I know parents want their kids to be smart or whatever, but the kid should have a say in it too.

I should really have my children answer, then you'd get the answer you want. They hated it, we stuck with it for a year.

But here is mine:
To strengthen skills and build confidence hoping for continued success in the regular academic classroom for years to come:)
