14 year old car.
Engine could be worn out.

Try a higher vicosity oil. 15W-40. or 20W-50.

When engines get a lot of miles on them, everything gets a little worn out. All those "little" things add up to quite a bit.

Changine to a different oil won't fix anything, but it will maintain higher oil pressures, and won't hurt anything.

Mileage on the vehicle? sounds like your oil pump is worn and not putting out the splendid rigidity as quickly as the engine warms up and the oil thins out. Revving the engine will enhance oil rigidity sufficient to reason the lifter? noise and mild-weight to pass away. you additionally could have some sludge buildup interior the better engine which isn't permitting the oil to return to the pan stunning. examine the oil point whilst the engine is chilly and then examine it back whilst the engine warms up at idle. you're able to do an oil substitute and turn to a heavier grade oil like 15 W-40 that may not skinny as plenty whilst heat yet that could reason oiling themes or no longer person-friendly commencing whilst commencing in very chilly climate... see if that enables however the only reliable thank you to sparkling up this is to interchange the pump and consider the valve/cam area for sludge/blockage.

i own a repair shop and it could be a faulty switch causing this, but some of these cars when they got a few miles on them had a problem with sludge building up in the oil pan ,and it causes them to loose oil pressure when they get warmed up,i have cleaned a few of those out before, you have to clean the pan and the pump out,and that re-stores the oil pressure back to what it should be ,and the reason it stalled out on you,its built in to the switch to shut it down if the oil pressure falls to a certain point, but you might want to try the switch first, its the cheapest, one to try, good luck hope this helps.
