Well, that's what I often wonder about though I'm not sure if all endings does bring us to pain because there're some that brings in us a great sense of relief too so I would say it all depends. But when it does lead us through pain, it does teach us something as well- either a lesson to be strong or simply something that goes a long way. And I think that's what life is all about- to learn & to grow and so as a part of life it just happens that way and I think that's also a reason why we do it over & over again through many layers of life. And isn't this whole thing quite simillar to why a seed drowns & dies in the soil just to bring forth a new blossom??

If you think about it, how would anything be new if you never had an ending to something? Sometimes you have to go through it at least once, to learn about life and then after experiencing that then you can experience a "new", great beginning. Does anybody know what I mean??? I've been through it all and learned the hard way.

The only ones that do are the ones who believe it must be painful to be ended.

You learn to appreciate what is ahead of you, you gain strength and character, many things aren't possible without learning to let go of that which holds you back. A painful loss usually makes way for something much more wonderful that would have never been possible if you were still in that situation or that person was still in your life.
Example: Had my father not died (still hurts to this day) circumstances would not have allowed me to give birth to my beautiful firstborn.

I thought about this long and hard....
Endings don't always have to be painful. Some are, some aren't.
We can't choose the level of pain an ending causes us. We are just stuck here to deal with it... no questions asked.
Here's what I have come to realize.... pain hurts, pain sucks... but...... pain ends.... with time.
And when you think about it, all we really have is time, right?

So we can let go...pain has a way of deterring us from comfortable complacency. No growth or rebirth is attained without pain to push out of our current comfort level and make us seek the next path.

Sometimes, new life can only emerge unless fire breaks down its seed coating. we must burn the old to an in order to stimulate the germination and mending of the new. Now and again, this process can be painful.

destruction and creation are quite similar in nature... without one there is not much need for the other... perhaps the pain can give us a greater appreciation in the new beginning
