I am asking cause if they do then why the hell can't people Like this Jackson character get over the fact that slavery was much much long ago and forgiveness should have been granted by now.
The Jews were slaves and they were tortured and killed in mass numbers.

My Grandparents all survived the holocaust. My fathers mother in particular went through the most torture. Her entire family (mother, father, sisters, brother, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews - a very large family) were all killed as well as how whole "shtetl" city. She went through Auschwitz, as well as about 8 other camps, the death march and so much more.
AND WE SHOULD FORGIVE????
She was beaten, starved, stripped, tortured and degraded. She watched friends and family die before her. She watched people be buried alive. She only survived through miracles - countless of them.
AND WE SHOULD FORGIVE????
The war finished and everyone went home to see what was left. Polish people were living in their homes, using their things. They had stolen all their money. And the Poles couldn't believe that there were Jews still around. So what did the Poles do? They tried to kill the remaining Jews.
AND WE SHOULD FORGIVE???
And yet, when the war was over and it seemed like all humanity was too, she lived on. She got married, had children, moved to America, started a business. Now she has children, and grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Soon she will I"YH have great-great grandchildren. She is a happy person but the scars remain.
She wouldnt throw out a tissue, a penny or peel vegetables too deep. She never considers any food spoiled no matter how old it may be. How could she? She survived on grass and potato peels for 6 years. She loved her children and gave them all the best she could - but she has a hard time showing love. How could she show love when all she loved was taken away from her in such a barbaric way?
AND I SHOULD FORGIVE????
She doesnt talk about it often, but when it does you can see her pain so clearly. But she is strong and talks and tells us all about it so that we should NEVER FORGET and NEVER LET such a thing happen again.
Just recently it was a quiet weekend and we were eating the meal together. Suddenly my Grandma cried out! The highchair that the baby was sitting in was from Germany and it had the usual warning sticker on it. It read ACHTUNG... and she couldnt handle it.
It brought back oh so many memories. How the Nazis would yell ACHTUNG and the Jewish prisoners as they woud order them around, killing randomly, beating and starving. How could she forget the word? HOW COULD SHE FORGIVE THEM!!
I NEVER WILL FORGET!!
I NEVER WILL FORGIVE!!
G-D WILL DO THE PUNISHING!!
BUT WE WILL PUNISH BY SURVIVING!!

It depends on the age. Many elderly Jews who remember 1st hand have not been able to forgive. Most younger Jews have forgiven them. Germany & Israel have fairly good relations. Better than Israel has with most of W Europe.

WWI2 was not against the Jews, the holocaust was. The world needs to forgive for the war, the Jews have not forgiven the holocaust.

Who would ever expect a holocaust survivor to, but for the most part, they have lived far past it. I am not Jewish if that makes a difference to anyone. think to myself "why do I have to leave disclaimers after an opinion nowadays?"

No they haven't. I know a Holocaust survivor who freaked out when she was given crystal made in Germany. I also know people who refuse to buy VW and such because they are German. So no, the Jews have not forgotten NOR FORGIVEN.

Germany was not at fault. Hitler and his duped followers were the ones at fault. Remember, many of the Jews who were killed were Germans, themselves. Many German citizens hid their Jewish neighbors best they could, and there were also many non-Jewish German citizens who were imprisoned for speaking out against Hitler and his Nazi regime (Dietrich Bonhoeffer was one of these citizens, not only imprisoned, but also hung for speaking and publishing info against Nazi Germany).
The Holocaust survivors I have known, had no ill feelings at all about Germany--- it had once been their homeland, and they still trusted the good citizens there... but they did have VERRRRY hostile feelings about the names Adolph, Braun, and Hitler, as well as the swastika and all antisemitism.
I lost Polish and Lithuanian family members to Hitler's Nazis. But I have no ill feelings towards Germany, the country, or the citizens who live there.

Everybody else at one time or another have been persecuted. For one example look at the church tyranny of the Inquisition. Jackson and Sharpton fan the flames to increase their power and wealth at the expense of the black populace and the dignity of humanity.
