I've always bought one-ply because my kids seemed to tear off the same length whether it was one ply or two, so there was less waste with one. And I think it's disgusting to dry-wipe a poop. American bathrooms have sinks in the same room as the toilet. Only takes a sec to wet a few squares of tp and do a more thorough cleaning.
