you need the 20 gallon long tank so they can have lots of room to swim. The sliders get big up to 12 inches at that time you will need to keep them is something at least as big as a plastic baby pool at a minimum. They will live for 20 years, be ready for a lot of work.

For now that is fine, but I would buy bigger. 20 gal is the minimum for 2 two one inch sliders. The rule is 10 gal per inch of turtle each.

So...
1in turtle = 10 gal. 2 1in turtles = 20 gal
2in turtle = 20 gal. 2 2in turtles = 40 gal
....and so on

Babies grow fast whe cared for properly. I bought a RES last summer and have gone through two tanks already. At over 100 dollars a tank I wish I had just bought a really large on for $299, since I have to spend it now anyway, plus I already spent $200 in the last year.

Same for filter, its best to get a really strong one so you don't need to buy new once each time(luckly I did this)

Good luck with the little ones.

No, they should have at least a 50 gallon tank. You need enough water for them to be able to swim around, and each one gets to be about ten inches long so 20 gallons won't be enough. Plus they need an area above the water where they can rest and sun themselves because they need to be able to get out of the water or they actually can drown. Side note: Sliders have to hold their heads beneath the surface of the water to swallow their food. Have fun with them! I love red-eared sliders!

It will be for now, but not if they grow even one more inch. Turtles need 10 gallons of water for every inch of shell and since you have two, you have to double this. Females get to be 12 inches in diameter (a 150 gallon aquaium is ideal) and males get to be 9 inches (a 120 is ideal). For now, they're fine, in about a month, not.

Your best bet is to take both small baby turtles and go to a very large pond. Once you have arrived at the pond let the turtles go. Them go home and never get another pet turtle.

For now, yes. But be warned that they will grow quickly. Be sure they have a place to get completely dried off and can sun. Congrats!
