He did pretty good on stopping Hitler though, at Stalingrad there was 20,000 communists left against 500,000 Nazi's, and the communists won with great flanking moves to surround the Nazi's with their reserves. It is one of the greatest come back battles of all time !

well it depends to who it applies. If its for the members of the communist party it was great full of luxuries. If u r asking about the people like the kulaks(farmers) it was bad. their land was taken away and known as Collectivation and if they opposed their land was taken away.
