Well kinda both. I like American cars because they are easyer to work on... exept some Ford trucks, and the batteries in some Chrysler products. (you have to love enginers!)
Imports usualy have better gas milege and can be a little more reliable. (But that is changing alot now) But OMG are they a B to work on! Look for an oil filter on a toyota 4 runner! I knew A guy that got his arm stuck in the suspention once trying to get one out the wrong way.

American made cars are mostly made by foreign car makers anyway so it doesn't matter just buy what you like and get a good deal on. Check out Kia

imports! they have proven to have better track record. last twice as many miles and break down only half as much. my honda has 200,000 miles and i've only done tires, brakes and oil changes. you can't say that about any american car.
