I'd smash it. The mosquitoes that bite are the females, and I wouldn't want it to potentially create more mosquitoes. The males are larger and they don't bite.
Spiders on the other hand, I catch and put outside. Spiders are our friends, they eat other bugs.

Smash HER, they flock to my daughter and she gets bitten up like crazy.
