BMW faulty cruise control?

Is there any truth to the rumor that some BMWs have a wire in the cruise control system that will short out and cause the car to accelerate even more when you brake. Have heard of it happening more than once. Have considered purchasing a 97-98 740IL and was just wondering.

I haven't heard of anything, and if there was, then there would have been a recall put out and it would have been fixed. good luck
