If you are that unhappy and it is a risky place because they don't follow health codes than it is not in your best interest to stay no matter what. Go to school, it is the best decision you can make and in the end, you will be much happier for it. Give the two weeks notice and get out. If you need a job or money between here and there, try to get a different kind of job. I highly suggest retail, it's mostly easy work, you can work as much or as little as you want at most stores, and if you choose the right store, the co-workers are awesome. I hope you figure it out though and good luck in school :)

of course go to school, but be prepared, try to save money before you go, if that means working where you do than put up with it. I know that isnt the answer you are probably looking for but in life I have found that we all have to make hard decisions and do difficult things to succeed. If you have until July, stick it out and save as much as you can. This will be a real blessing while you are going to school, even if you have help because after you graduate from cosmetology school you may not make that much right away because you have to build your client base first. I know that my sister in law is 6 months out of school and she is just now starting to make decent money. Be prepared and talk to others who are in your field and you know will give you an unbiased opinion. Anyway, go to school but be smart about it so you wont ever end up where you are again!

I had no choice but to drop out of High School when I was only 15. I worked in Burger King and McDonald's for a few years. I went through hell trying to get my GED and finally being accepted to a private university. Please get out of there as soon as possible. Notice is not required if you are sincerely planning on going to school. Trust me a future employer is not going to ask you which fast food did you work for. I am also curious if you know this employer is breaking the law why haven't you reported them to the Department of Labor? At your age I reported McDonald's and they were in some pretty hot water. Did it matter to me? No. Was I scared? Yes. But in the end I not only helped my co-workers I showed them just because someone is a high school drop out does not mean they are totally clueless about there rights. The best of luck to you! Move forward and never look back.

I wouldn't stay there all summer...there must be some other place that you can work this summer until school starts. If you have a conscience (like me) give one week notice. If not, just give them a call. I don't however, have enough of a conscience to give a whole two weeks notice. BTW, if you don't need the $$$, just take the summer off. It will probably be the last carefree summer you'll ever have until you're too old to enjoy it.

Go to school! You don't want to be a 38 year old woman still working at fast food joints. Get a degree that you can make way more money than you ever could in fast food.

Report this place to the authorities and leave. Give the two week notice. Your next employer will ask about it. Filling it will make you look good to them.
If you lie and say you did not have a job yet, your employment history will come up in a background check. Fill the two week notice.

Tiffany. If your 'hot' there is no need for you to see the gritty underbelly of life. Some grisly sporty type is no doubt waiting in the wings to sweep you off to a life of loveless hedonism. Nooo!!!! If you truly dont need the money then quit, and get yourself a good education under your belt so that you have options and choice.

personally..........i love my fast food career. i am now assistant manager of a mcd's. i dropped out of college (i had a full ride scholarship because of mathematics) but i decided that i was done with school, and that education was just not for me. i was at NYU for one semester before i packed up, and moved back to my hometown, to take my mcd's career up again. my parents HATE me for doing what i did. they said "thats such a waste, do u know how many people young AND old would give their right arm to have a full-ride scholarship to ANY college not just NYU?" i still dont speak with my parents. they wouldnt let me move back in with them. so i moved into a camper on my friend's parents farm for a few weeks until i saved up enough money to get an apartment with one of the chicks i work with. she has a 1 yr old son, and we have a lot of parties at our place. once i got the apartment, i called my mom and gave her the address of my new place where i was living, and my new phone number. the next day, my dad brought the rest of my things from their house, and dumped it outside my door (i was at work at the time). when i got home, my bed, 6 big boxes, and a lot of other things were there. he must have had bart benson (our next door neighbor that owns a moving truck) help him bring the stuff over. anyhow, it made me pretty sad for a lil bit, but then i went inside the apartment, and there was a party going on, so some guys helped bring my stuff into the house, and then they gave me some x and some 'shrooms and everything was dandy again!!!!!! so the whole point to this story is, DO WHAT YOUR HEART TELLS YOU IS RIGHT NO MATTER WHO GETS MAD OR DISOWNS YOU!!!!!!! i'm glad i listened to my heart, flipping burgers and making schedules for HS kids is FUN!!!!!!!!

Well, it's never good to burn a bridge but my goodness if what you are saying is true you need to get out of there.
Stories like these make me so glad that I have resolved never to eat fast food again.
You can find a better job. Good luck in school, stay in school!
