The BEST WAY to quit a job is with another job lined up! Then, you can give your 2 week's notice, in writing, to your existing employer, and move on with no hard feelings.
Job-hunting when you don't have a job is automatically more difficult. Potential employers unconsciously assume that if you're unemployed, it's because you're not as good as someone who IS employed.
Good luck.

Write a resignation letter. Explain to them in short why you are leaving and your last day. Normally even if you hate the job, you will make it sound like you are fulfilling other opportunities, just in case you need them for a referral. I had to quit before and it was hard!! Don't worry though, just be strong. Normally you should give them 2 weeks notice, but they may need more. Good luck...

Start by typing a resignation letter, stating that you have found another opprotunity with a different company. Tell them that this opprotunity is aligned with how you want to expand your career. You must give at least two weeks notice, so be sure to turn your letter in on a Friday or a Monday. Be prepared to be asked to leave right away and don't be sour about it

If you would like to used them as a reference then give them a 2-3 weeks notice. If not then just quit. Just remember that when employers are going to can you, they will do it right away and not care too much for you.

You need to write up a letter of resignation and hand it to your manager/superior/supervisor. You dont really have to give a reason just say that you want to pursue other interests. If he asks specifically tell him/her you enjoyed the work, and found it challenging but that you're looking for a different type of challenge.

Verbally express to your immediate supervisor when your last day will be. Be prepared to tell why if you want to, although employment is at will you don't have to answer.
Provide written notice of your resignation.
Ideally, provide the employer with 2 weeks notice.
