I have been looking around on tigerdirect.com for a new computer. I am pretty much building it from scratch. But at any rate i was looking at graphics cards. I found a cheap directX 10 card and was excited. But i have been reading around and people say you have to have Vista to use it. BUT on tigerdirect at the bottom of the page it says you can use the card with vista, XP, or 2000. So what is the deal? Will it work just not be as good as if i had Vista? Well here is the link to the card

Any info on this would be awsome!

Right now i have about a 100 dollar budget on the graphics card since i have to have money for the rest of the comp. So should i go ahead and get that card even though i wont be able to use the directX 10? Would it still be a pretty good card for the money or would it be better to get a different card?

To get the full DX10 experiance you need Vista. The reason they state the GFX card will work in XP,2000 is because it will but not in full DX10 mode but instead DX9.

There are however some hacks on the net that claim to get some sort of DX10 running under XP. Just search google for such hacks.

You can use a DirectX10 card on XP, but you will not get the DX10 options. DirectX10 was made for Vista and will only be available to Vista users. If your planning on getting any DX10 games you will have to be running Vista to use the DX10 options.
