Its no secret the the Mummy was styled after Indiana Jones (in fact Lucas called the mummy "the best copy of Indy ever made"), but which is better? Personally I love them both but I think Indiana Jones is far better.
Also who would win in a fight Indiana Jones or Richard O'Connel

Another way that Indiana Jones is better is the music. Not that Jerry Goldsmith's and Alin Silvestery's scores for mummy and mummy returns were bad but John Williams score for Indy was awsome. Everyone knows the theme to Indy, but not to many people could wistle the mummy theme on demand.

Simple, Jones has more style and character, he is brassy, and he was fighting the Nazis, and as far as the films go, he didn't have the benefit of all the high tech CGI that Mummy had - and Harrison Ford STAPLED his hat to his head, THAT is dedication Mein Freund. Would Brendan Fraser do that? I think not.

The Mummy wasn't styled after Indiana Jones; it was styled after the matinee serials and pulp magazines of the 20's and 30's. This is where Lucas got all of his ideas for Indiana Jones. Neither Indiana Jones or the Mummy is original; they're both just big-budget remakes of old movies and books.

Indiana Jones had more action, however, the Mummy was more comical. As for the fight, tough call but I think Indy would win.

I totally agree with you. I know it is a tough call to choose between the two but Indiana Jones has it.

I LOVE INDY X100000 BETTER THAN THE MUMMY! indy rocks. much more original. the mummy's just a big fat copy-cat wrapped in thick smelly pieces of cotton.
