I got to thinking that I think I heard Johnny Cash sing it as well. Yep! the song I was thinking of was indeed Peace in the Valley.

It sounds like it might be "Peace in the Valley" which Elvis did sing a lot.

There is an elvis song called "Peace in the Valley" which is simliar to those lyrics.

It's called "Peace In The Valley" and several musicians have done this same song - Elvis was one of them. :-)

They have an area where you can type in the lyrics and search. I had copied and pasted the lyrics that you gave me, but they didn't get anything. Try maybe a different part of the song.
