We are having a huge party bar b que. I have lots of vegetarians & vegans for friends. Would you be offended if the vegetarian food was catered & the rest of the food was home made?

No way! I would be flattered that the hostess went out of her way for me; it would make me feel like she really cared about making me feel comfortable.

If you want to be a vegan you most probably should take vitamins, so you can get your daily proteins and such; things you wouldn't get from meat. I am a vegetarian, I have been my whole life. My mom is too and so is my dad and his whole entire family. I have never been brought up to eat meat and I don't want to, I find it disgusting and my body can't support it. I get very sick when I eat it, so I wouldn't know how hard it is to have to choose between meat or veggies and helping the animals that get slaughtered. But, do what your heart tells you to do. If you want to be a vegan or a vegetarian, go for it, try it out. If you can't handle it then you can always go back to eating meat.

Catering never suggests "second best." Instead it suggests you went to the trouble of paying to get food that is of professional quality for them.

The only potential problem would be if its quality and flavors outshines your homemade meat items. Then you would have to worry about the meat eaters crossing over and devouring some of what you were reserving for the vegetable crowd. Maybe you should over-order to be sure.

I think it is nice that you acknowledge that some of your friends are vegetarians and are planning food for them. I would be put-out if anyone was offended. Good for you!

No, I wouldnt be offended

But it's really easy to make vegi food at home. You can make Portabella Mushroom Burgers, just marinade them for about 5-10 mins then grill them they're soooo good! Or you could make shishkabobs! (lol, thats a foony word and I probably spelled it wrong) Do they eat fish? I know alot of vegitarians who eat fish. If they do then fish is good to BBQ. I know alot of good vegitarian things to BBQ. . . YUMMY!!!

I wouldn't be offended at all. It's thought full of you to take the time to consider the diets of your guests. If anyone has an issue with your efforts then odds are they were looking for fault anyway. That is their problem not yours.
