Now that the Mavs are gone I think it has to be between either the San Antonio Spurs or The Pheniox Suns, but I hope the Spurs take it.

San Antonio is the clear favorite.
They have smothering defense and the best bench in the league. They have the best center in the league and not one but two supernatural guards. Every time you look at them somebody else on the team is doing something productive. Horry is an absolute assasin, never mind his nice guy act. Their coach knows that defense and execution win Championships and he is smart and competitive.

Chicago is an interesting dark horse (dark horse means surprise competitor).. their regular season record isn't astonishing but the way they schooled Miami makes me think anything can happen. They seem like a team that is coming of age at this moment like the Warriors but they aren't as beat up and they have a longer bench.

We all love pheonix but they are an outside shot because in spite of Marion they still don't bring the D and as soon as they hit real D the running and gunning slows way down. Also you only have to shut down one player on Pheonix to disrupt their whole rhythm (Nash).

Detroit is always dangerous and can never be counted out. Webber adds a lot to the team and they seem determnined to make up for last season's disappointment.

So the smart money is on San Antonio, second Detroit,
Chicago can not be counted out and Pheonix have a slim hope.

Golden State in my eyes does have a shot if the Suns knock off the Spurs cause Golden State has beaten alot of the teams in the west and since Dallas got ripped apart by the Warriors not only that unlike some other teams (Spurs,Suns) who are expected to do well Warriors are just playing they don't have to worry about much cause even though they got knocked off oh well they made it that far in the WESTERN CONFERENCE unlike the East, The Western conference has all the big dogs. And thats why I think Golden State has a shot at it.

But, if not the Warriors it's gonna be Spurs

My prediction is that the Cleveland Cavs will win the championship. It is time for King James to take his throne. And he has a supporting cast this season. As of late, Big Z and Anderson Verajao have played real stong. Drew Gooden's game has showed up every night, and the Cavs made a big move when the inserted Shash Pavolic into the lineup as a shooting guard and moved Larry Hughes over to the point guard position. The team is really picking up steam and they just rolled over the Wizards. I know that Washington was easy pickings without Butler and Areanas, but it was a really big confidance booster. Plus the Cavs were in the playoffs last season and are looking to go on to the next step. They have the personel to win, and the talent. If the Mavs can fall, so can the Suns, Pistons, and Bulls.

i imagine San Antonio, Dallas, and Phoenix all have a great shot at it. do not count number out the Miami warmth both. They were only 10 - 10 at this similar time very last 12 months, yet fairly grew to develop into it on contained in the playoffs. Having Shaq healthful will make a wide distinction for that team. different darkish horse applicants comprise Detroit, Utah, and Houston. i'm nonetheless not offered on Orlando, Chicago, Cleveland, or the Lakers.

I've been saying it since I got here: the Pistons are the team to beat. They will take the title back to "6" Championship Drive in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Deeeetrooiit Baaaasketbaaallll!!!!

They won the first two games v. Chicago by a combined 47 points?? Chicago swept the defending champs. Say what you want about Miami, Detroit is a force this year.

It's happening. Detroit will be home to two championship teams this year.

Unfortunately, I think it will be the Spurs. Don't get me wrong - I really like the Spurs, it's just that they're so boring, and already have a million rings.
