I don' t know where my wife is. I am planning to file for annulment based on fraud. Does anyone know these two things?
1) Can an attorney who files my papers be in Florida but at the same time do everything according to the laws of the state where papers are filed?
2) Do police serve the papers to my spouse or these are just sent by regular mail to the her last known address?

I get different answers all the time, so it gets me even more confused.

Thanks.

Of course, I am not turning to you to help me decide. And the people I consulted with a professionals. The thing is that every attorney tries to get me into the whole complect in order to make more money. Now, the attorneys who mostly deal with paperwprk tell me that I will not even have to go to court as there is no fighting over anything. We have no children, and the house is officially mine. So I was hoping that someone could help me understand who of the attorneys I conctacted is not trying to get the maximum amount of money out of me. I am devastated anyway.

It is almost like a divorce. I had considered one before and since I didn't fit the terms of one, later we got a divorce. With annulments you have to prove what your charging, either fraud, mental, or whatever at the time of the marriage. If they can't find her they will run an ad in the local paper where you think she might be. Your lawyer can be from any state, but each state has their own guidelines. One party has to go to court whether you have property, children, ect.

You have to file in the state the marriage took place. The police do not serve court documents, the Sherrif's department does in some states. YOU can not send them my mail yourself. You have to have someone else fill out a form that comes with your papers, this form must be filed with the court. Then this person takes the papers to the post office and mails it "Return Receipt" to be sure the person you want to have the papers gets them.

Just talk to an attorney and get straight answers. Don't make life decisions from what people say on here.

Sorry about your wife.
