My brother scuba dives, but I don't. I think it's so the tank doesn't flip over and knock the diver in the head.
Darnit...I can't think of the funny answer...what is it?

So their mask doesn't fall off. If the diver dives forward, the
water will force the mask off upon entry!

Its not so the mask dont fall off. Its so it dont fill up w/ water making it hard to see but if that happens were trained on how to clear it.
