Grinding noises aren't good coming from a computer that is booting. Sounds like you might need a new hard drive.

Open up your computer and see if your CPU cooling fan is not turning too. Might be overheating. Could be the cause for the grinding noise also. An overheating CPU will cause it to crash.

Check your video card cooling fan too if you have a separate card.

If your computer fans are gunked up with dust, blow them out. Maybe your powersupply fans are grinding.

Lots of things to check for. Hopefully it isn't your hard drive grinding.

it would want to nonetheless be the onboard pix chip has failed. I doubt that although reason it would commonly don't have any photo on the reveal or would have any distinct type of blocks, lines, streaks or something alongside with that. Plus in case you probably did no longer have a password on the computing gadget and it would in many circumstances bypass instantly into homestead windows and the initiate sound develop into nonetheless on you should nonetheless listen it. My suggestion will be disconnect each and every thing no longer necessary like the optical stress and floppy stress or the different peripherals you've gotten and attempt it. achievable the not undemanding stress has lengthy previous undesirable. per chance the PSU is undesirable?
