I almost feel like a copycat, but Ladanian Tomlinson is by far the best back in football now, and also smart enough not to be on the cover of Madden, but the best of all time is "The Kansas Comet", number 40, the great Gayle Sayers. By the way did that idiot really say that Ron Dayne is the greatest back in football. Seriously that's more cracked out than the Lions being the best team in football crap.

The best running back in the NFL right now is LaDanian Tomlinson of San Diego. There is no debate on that.
If one were to say that Barry Sanders was the greatest of all time, and a second were to say that Jim Brown was, and a third said Walter Payton, none of the three would be wrong in my book. Three running backs, three different styles. All undeniably the best of their generation.
