I always believed that, but I found as a policeman there is absolutely no sure thing when you throw people into the mix.
We would plan extra staffing for some days like New Year's Eve and have the people out in force and it would be relatively calm.
Then some random night like Tuesday you get swamped with calls and you're thinking "is it a full moon?" and it would be just another regular half moon or whatever.
I just remember thinking "why is there no predicting human behavior?"

Around 60% of the human body is made up of water so the theory goes that the gravitational pull of the full moon has a wacky effect on our brain chemistry just as it pulls the tide up of the oceans.

The studies to support that people act crazier with the fullmoon are however conflicting and inconclusive. It's reasonable to say that people who were unbalanced to begin with, might feel the effect slightly. But it is probably a bit more of a popular folklore myth.

9-1-1 supervisor here, there is a definite correlation between crazy calls and the full moon. Don't know what causes it, but people seem to really go nuts when the moon is full.

crazier things have been proven true. I've noticed that the only times we seem to get an edge is when it's a full moon.

It is not only a fact, but, I actually adjust for my clients when the moon is full. Anything with enough energy to move oceans has enough energy to affect a lot of other things. There's even a word for it. lunacy/lunatic.

I work in a hospital, and our census went up sharply for a few days, then went down just as sharply. Go figure.
