how do you clear all the files in an ibook before selling it?

transferred all my files to my new macbook through firewire so i am all set... with that part...

Make an account, give it administrative privileges and delete the old user. If you want to do it more securely, you can put the install disk in and choose the option to erase the hard drive and reinstall OSX from scratch.
