I was curious about how you choose the best answer. Do you ever choose other peoples answer over yours? Or do you usually pick yours for the points? I was reading the forum today and it started me thinking.

I agree with the "most" choosing my own wouldn't be fair.....and it all depends. If it was a serious question and it was a detailed and serious answer, perhaps what I was looking for then I choose that and if its totally silly and off the wall and it just struck me as hilarious I choose that one - just depends on what I'm looking for that suits me.

I usually pick whoever has the best answer - which is mostly not me - because they actually did a good job. About the points thing: I don't choose myself as best answer because after level 2 (which I'm at) there is no real reason to care about points. Getting to level 2 is cool because then you can do thumbs-up or thumbs-down. But past that, Y!A points don't matter because they won't get you anywhere in life.

I usually choose the most interesting one and the one that has a lot of explanation. If it has satisfied me and answered what I wanted to hear, it becomes the best answer.

I give my answer, then i read all the other answers marking them as I consider appropriate. They get a thumbs up if like them, a thumbs down if I disagree with them, or left alone otherwise.

In all honesty, I am totally AMAZED when ALOT of my answers are chosen as BEST...and I know that more often than not, there were other answers that SHOULD were ALOT better than what I wrote..... I'm grateful that my answers are chosen....I would not have ALOT of the points that I have now, but I am still AMAZED......REALLY......
