I think that $mitty is a recluse, virgin, EMO, 32 years old and lives with Mommy, fast food job having, pimple wearing, tidy whitey washing,comic book reading, tape on the glasses having, angry little social reject of his own design. This is the only attention that he " if he's a he" can get. And unfortunately we all play into it, validating his/her position.
