Should my ex have talked to me first about introducing our kids to his new girlfriend. We were together 14 years and have only been broken up for 4 months.What do you think? I AM FREAKING OUT!!!!! I am not ready for them to meet her.

He should have discussed it with you, but since it has happened, all you can do is let it go.

You are not ready for them to meet her, or they aren't ready to meet her? Perhaps he should have consulted you for your opinion, but he doesn't need your permission. Usually, I don't advocate introducing a "significant other" until the two are very serious. It sounds to me though like you are more jealous than anything else. Your ex deserves a life too. Go out with your friends, have fun, relax, and keep the lines of communication open.

He should have talked to you about it. It's not fair to kids to introduce random people into their lives. In the future you may want to address this with him. I think it should be a joint decision to introduce new people to kids. The three of you could sit down and talk and then all of you talk to the kids. As someone who is dating someone with kids, I prefer to make sure that we are serious enough to warrant an introduction to the kids.

I didn't feel that I needed to talk to my ex about his, then girlfriend now wife, before our kids met her. They are his kids too. Just as I didn't talk to him about our kids meeting my boyfriend. Just relax it will be ok, I promise..good luck
