Blimey! I should be an expert on this! 4 weeks ago my Dad fell chasing burgulars and broke a bone in his hand, 3 weeks ago, my Mum fell and fractured the bone in her upper arm, the next day my husband had a second stroke, and last Sunday my Mum fell again and has broken bones in her foot!! I reckon about 1/2 to 1 hour wait to be assessed, then up to 2 hours to see a Doctor, then anything goes before actually getting treatment. Wish me some good luck please!!!!

Approximately 3 minutes! And I saw a Doctor within 5! While people are sat waiting please remember that more urgent cases are brought in by Ambulances and through a separate entrance! I've had my share of waiting longer too up to 6 hours on a Saturday night and no prize for guessing why they were so busy, it was only a broken wrist and although painful it was hardly life-threatening.

Last time I had to visit A&E I waited for over 3 hours (this happened during the day) I won't even try to think how long would I have waited if I were to go during the night. I think it's terrible.

The first time, with a cut to the head - my @rse hardly touched the chair in the waiting room. The second time, with a dislocated knee - about 5 mins on a stretcher in the corridor.
