One line comes from the petcock and the other comes from a silver electronic moduel just opposite from the petcock. I was wondering if they were suppose to be connected to anything.

--The "electronic moduel" is the fuel level gauge. It has a cover to protect it from getting damaged when removing and installing the fuel tank. When water gets in, or moisture accumulates in the cover, it drains out the hose. The hose doesn't connect to anything. It either just hangs there, or if it's long enough, it's gets routed to the ground.
--The petcock is a vaccum petcock. Vaccum from the engine while it's cranking, sucks a diaphram open to allow the fuel to flow (a saftey feature to prevent the fuel from flowing in case of an accident and the bike stops running).
--If the petcock has 2 outlets, one is the fuel line to the carbs. The other is the vaccum hose and connects to the joint between the #1&2 carbs.
--If the petcock has 3 outlets, then the 3rd hose is just a breather hose, to allow air to enter and escape from the diaphram chamber. It doesn't connect to anything. It just hangs there.
