There's no radiation involved in ultrasound. Ultrasound is based on superhigh frequency sound waves, just like a bat uses to find bugs while flying in pitch dark. Your family isn't familiar with ultrasound and I would disregard their advice on this particular issue.

What if that was the case all pregnant women wouldn't have ultrasound. They do ultrasound for a reason so they can check on how the baby is doing they look at the organs etc. Not to be rude your family is smoking crack.

no, they are very very safe, most pregnant woman get two in there pregnancies, ask your doctor for a fact sheet, so you can give it to your family so they can read the truth and not give you a hard time, the ultrasound is such an exciting part of the pregnancy process, don't let anyone take that away from you,

ultrasounds do not use IONIZING radiation which is what is harmful in normal x-rays. There is still some controversy over the safety of routine ultrasounds, but the general consensus is that they are safe.

If there is any radiation, I don't think there is enough to do any harm. I would double check with your doctor.

They do not have the dangerous radiation.
I had them with 2 pregnancies and my kids were ok, though they keep asking me for gas money now!
