Where is the separation of church and state if government tries to do the job of religion?

The Church does it far better, the government is about as religious as a weapons dealer.

Next will be they can get into all your private moments, lets just go ahead and install cameras in everyones bath and bedrooms.

Oh! - they are almost there, of course not in the Whitehouse, of course, or in Roves email either- there's no need because these are pure and good men!!

Better than Clinton- (he had sex once, and lied about it) No republican would EVER do that!

uh.. except Tom Delay, Rush Limbaugh, Scooter Libby (porn author) Bill O'Rielly (porn author) Knute Gingrich, had to step down as speaker for having an affiar while Clinton was in office, Mark Folley, Ted Haggart,

This is a great question, and it speaks so well to the blatant hypocrisy of the right wing! There is a book that I read a few years ago, called glass houses......I can't remember the name of the author, except that she was a woman.....and that book spoke very well about the hypocrisy of those who were persecuting Clinton. *sm*

the point is that the republicans mentioned, for the most part, owned up to their mistakes and those in office who had inappropriate sexual behavior readily stepped down amid apologies to the nation.

however, clinton opted instead to lead the country through impeachment proceedings on an issue that could easily have been resolved had he been more forthcoming and honest. how much did his lie cost the country? why did oral sex catch on as an acceptable alternative to intercourse and/or abstinence among jr. and high schoolers soon after?

individuals are free to indulge themselves in whatever immoralities that catch their whim. however, public officials, especially the president, have a higher level of obligation to conduct themselves within the context of morality befitting their positions. they are the nation's most important role models and immorality is a personal choice that should not be thrust upon public in such an arrogant fashion.

clinton's selfish and self-indulgent behavior throughout his tenure was a prime example of how he saw himself as more celebrity then official. the way he attested to maintain a right to such behavior was indeed appalling. his assertions that he had in fact done nothing wrong were the only cause of investigation.

nobody's perfect, but those who feel entitled to live and deny their imperfections are among the worse of the lot.

Maybe you fail to recall that as of 50 years ago every single state in the country banned "sodomy." Only in the recent past have libbies started arguing that to do so is a violation of the slice of swiss cheese that seperates church and state.

And FYI, state governments' job is to tell us what we cannot do. By default, you have a right to do that which is not prohibitied.

Yes and while they are at it they can decide what I should wear...oh and not to mention what I should do with my life....its more than SUPER...ITS DANDY! (hopefully you have the understanding and realize the sarcasim in the writing) Anyway Republicans are never ever ever wrong....they have people that take the bullet for them. The person who takes George Bushes bullet probably is nothing but holes oh and by the by I think that we are pretty much a dog on a leash...a short leash
