i just got back from Europe and I stayed in barcelona for 2 nights. There is a Hostal Girona-- C. girona 24, 1st Floor Telephone:011-34-93-2650259. I paid 35 euros a night. My room had a sink, shower and a small balcony. I had asked for a single room but they only had aroom with 2 beds so I stayed there. Super clean, a few steaps from PL. Catalunya and las Ramblas. You have your own key so you are free to come and go as u want. Oh.. for 45 euros I could have had my own complete bathroom :)

None of those places are 'countries', pet. They are all cities. Personally I wouldn't bother, simply because Barcelona and Rome are so far away from both each other and Paris that you would have to either commit to flights, which would mean losing half a day each at an airport, or overnight train journeys, which would mean losing a huge amount of sleep. If you have your heart set on Barcelona and Rome, then go to those two places only. And I would suggest investigating a flight between the two cities, or a ferry from Barcelona to Italy, rather than the train. And rather than wasting your time dithering over websites, invest in good travel guide books for these cities. I like the DK Eyewitness Travel Guides series, but there are many great publications available. Try the travel section in your nearest bookshop.

Last year I stay in the H - 10 Gravina. The Hotel is located in a quite street very close La Rambla, Plaza Cataluña and El Corte Ingles. We take 2 interconnecting rooms because we are 2 adults and 2 kids. This rooms are the better ones. I pay approx. 180 Euros for the 2 rooms, but prices varies depending of the season.

note: they have a free cava on the reception.

Most visitors stay in or near the Ramblas or in the Gothic Quarter just to the east. This is a good base from where you can explore the city's sights by day including Gaudi's masterpiece, the unfinished Sagrada Família Cathedral, and Parc Güell in the north. Barcelona has become among the first tourist location of Spain as it understands just how to please the huge bulk : with a history among the oldest in Europe, an area that never rests and an inland saturated in attraction, wonderful beautiful beaches in La Costa Brava and you can see all of this in the event that you take a peek with hotelbye first. The variety of creative pieces, the Romanesque churches and the fantastic titles in modern art and structure like: Dali, Gaudi, Miro and Picasso provide Barcelona an area in the listing of towns you should see.
