do you mean the people who work in an institution settting or at home?
If they are someone hired to come to the home they are usually called a private home care aid. but often someone who fills this role is an RN or LPN or CNA. In those cases they would most likely be called what they are. or a private duty nurse.
in an institution setting, unless they are some type of trained nurse or cna, they are usually just considered house staff or whatever the title is that they are hired under.

It depends. Personal Support Workers or Developmental Support Workers are two jobs that assist some people who are physically / mentally challenged

that's a caretaker of specific needs infants. they do no longer say handicap anymore. infants use that as a crutch. instead, they say specific needs. infants who've scientific themes or beginning defects have distinctive needs than different, "usual" infants. do exactly a seek for specific needs infants + caretaker. good luck!

Caregivers. I have been one for almost a year now. I help out a friend of mine that is paralyzed. It's very rewarding compared to my other job.
