The median is the middle number when the numbers are ordered. so
17, 21, 22, 22, 26, 30, 38, 67, 59, 85
But there are 10 numbers. How to pick the "middle one"...
Well in this case, we take the average of the two middle numbers, 26 and 30. 26+30=56. Dividing by 2 we get 28. So 28 is the median.

The other terms are "mean".... that's the average of all the numbers, and "mode"... that's the most frequently occurring number. It's possible to have more than one mode.

put them in order from least to greatest: 17, 21, 22, 22, 26, 30, 38, 59, 67, 85 then cross out one by one on each side. so first 17 and 85. then 21 and 67. and so on in the end, you get stuck with 26 and 30. 26 + 30 = 56 56 / 2 = 28 28 is the median

i THINK that you add the two middle numbers, and since you have ten numbers in the list divide by ten. but im not positive.
