It was ok....sort of sad because the character he played was really deep down a pretty lonely guy. I like Jude Law though. Did you like him in Talented Mr Ripley?? ...BTW your pic looks like Val Kilmer!

The original with Michael Caine was so good that I doubt anyone could do the role justice. I mean, I liked Jude Law in THE HOLIDAY but that was an original role not a reprise.

Sadly it was a remake of the Michael Caine movie of the same name "Alfie" and didn't quite hit the mark, a big disappointment.
If you haven't seen the original, rent it, you will enjoy seeing it.

I only enjoyed it for the Jude factor . . . otherwise, I just didn't care much for the movie. It wasn't his acting, it just simply wasn't the right script for him, I don't think.
Although the pool table scene . . . hot as heck.
