My point is this: If we believe that sexual preference is a genetic trait, doesn't that apply to all sexual preferences?
If sexual preferences are by choice, then isn't it possible that people make bad choices?

They are both mental abnormalities . Since homosexuality is between consenting adults its not a big deal , but child molesting is mentally abusive so we categorize them differently .

Homosexuality is a trait people are born with. And consumated between C-O-N-S-E-N-T-I-N-G Adults.
Pedophiles probably do have a a chemical imbalance in their brain. But you have to ask, where they sexually abused in their childhood? Many were. Many had other problems in their childhoods as well.
But molesting a C-H-I-L-D. is different than consenting adults. children are trusting and inocents. They do not deserve to be molested and betrayed by an adult.
It is simply Just W-R-O-N-G!!!

Child molesters are mentally ill. Homosexuality is an attraction to the same sex...not an age group. Molesters are predators, preying upon helpless children who cannot stop them. Does it make any sense that heterosexual men prey upon little boys? It's just sick.

because homosexuality is about what sex you prefer and pedophilia is about liking children. children can't defend themselves, aren't ready to be sexual, and it is wrong to attack the defenseless. while it may be genetic it is the acting on it that makes people bad. hurting children is wrong in any instance regardless of why. being homosexual is simply about finding the same sex attractive. i don't think it's a fair comparison. two adults who engage in homosexual activity hurt no one where as any adult that engages in sexual behavior with a child hurts that child forever.

There are no rational similiarities between homosexuality and child molestation. Quite the opposite, child molestation is an assault on another human being. Homosexual activity is consensual and hurts no one. You are trying to compare apples with oranges here and the implications you are trying to make seem to indicate that you are a bigot.

People find excuses for things they don't want to face or solve. I can actually make myself learn to like to have sex with a woman by immersing myself in lesbian porno. I have that capability because I am an intelligent being. So read what you want in what I said but think about it, you are the master of this planet and your own body. You do what you want with it and the only universal rule is that you do not harm others.

Sexual preference refers to whether someone is attracted to the opposite sex, or the same sex. Not whether they are attracted to dogs, cats, horses, or kids!!! BIG difference in sexual orientation and pedophilia.
