I used to be that way as well. You should be able to tell your friends "no". If they are your friends, they should understand.

Your friends should respect it if you tell them the truth up front rather than make up lies later to get out of something.

Just know it's okay to not want to do something everyone else is doing. You're your own person and you have the right to make your own choices.

If you keep this up for the rest of your life than people will walk all over you and take you for granite. if you don't want to do something than tell them something like this you know I'm just not in the mood to do anything right now maybe next time or another time. or you can say you know I'm really tired today how about another day. don't be pushed into something that you don't want to do

You have to get some backbone, and just tell your friends, that you don't wish to see that movie, or go to that party.
They are after all your friends, so let them know, what they are planning to do or go to, is not your cup of tea.
They will respect your decision, there are, I am sure, places that you would like to go to, but wouldn't suit them.
Just be honest with them, and you will be a lot happier for it.
If you cave in and go somewhere, you won't be happy, you will just be a drag on their good times.
So saying no, will be good for you and good for them.

Just say you really don't care for that movie/etc. but you still want to spend time together, maybe doing something else soon. How about suggesting something you like to do? That way, you can still spend time together but you can enjoy yourself too.

Just tell them "Yeah i would really like to, but I kinda already made plans with someone, What are you doing tomorrow night?" Or just tell them the truth, whatever it may be. They should'nt get too mad they ARE your friends, arent they?

what i try to do is suggest something else---say "i don't really feel like a movie...who wants to go to the park?" or whatever. remember it's your life and your friends shouldn't be ruling it-they shouldn't hate you for not feeling up to a movie, etc, and if they do they're not people you should be hanging around anyways.

Tell your friends that you don't really want to do that or see that and ask them if they want to do something else. If they don't want to do what you recommended, then tell them to have fun and that you'll see them later.

Just be honest from the get go, then they will know where you stand and probably will quit asking.

You simply say," I'm sorry but I just have to decline, or I am sorry, but I just have to turn you down.
