Since he's 6 years old, it's a little late to ask this question.
With all the parent's nowadays trying to be unique, they come up with variations of standard names. I find it quite humorous.

Jerichoy is just as good as any other name.

Fortunately, Geritol is no longer on the market. I can see kids coming up with Jeritol, Jeri curl, Jeri-bok-choy, Jeri-coke, Jeri-atric, Jeriassic Park, but those are mean little kids.

If you love the name don't worry about it. Not a name I would choose and not the spelling either, but if you love it and your husband likes it, thats good enough. If you son ends up not liking it later on,...you can shorten it, or he can, or change it. Though that doesn't happen often. It sort of sounds like you just named him at 6 years. If so: maybe he would like to try it on for a while before making it the one and only name he will have. Anyway good luck trying to find a second name if you have another child. Each one will be a challenge.

I've never heard it - however I'm confused as to how to pronounce it. And I'm not going to be the only one. Spelling a name is one thing, pronouncing it is entirely another. I feel like saying, "jericho"-y. Jericho was the city in the Bible that the Israelites marched around for seven days and then blew horns and the walls collapsed.
I keep reading it and getting different sounds each time
Jer-achoy
Jeree - choy
Jer - ih - choy
I think it may be a bit too off the wall. What about Jericho - still a cool name. Easier to say.

honestly, it definately wouldn't have been MY choice. You could call him Jay, Jer, Jeri, Rick, or Coy so he doesn't get made fun of.

next time, if you want a unique name, try going old school...
because my husband and my names are common french names, we have decided to name all our kids french first names from the turn of the century. their middle names will be after their grandparents. My daughter's name is Lucille. We also like Madeleine and Benjamin so far.

That name is too hard to pronounce. Should though of a unique name that is easy to pronounce like Kamdor Ninjax. I just realize I am doing the same thing what my dad did to me. I just give my son a weird but unique different name. Oh well it's too late and already on his birth certificate. Nobody ask your middle name these days so I guess it's OK.

I'm not loving it -- it's one of those names that people have to work too hard to know how to say, and if you say it how you spell it, it's sort of like working on a chew toy to get the whole thing out.

Is it Jer-e-CHOI, or JER-itch-oy, or Jeri-Koy?

Sorry.

Similar, but recognizable as a name -- Jericho, a biblical place name. Joshua, also biblical. Jered. Gerrard. Garrett.

It is quite an original name. I like it. You know how kids pick on other kids because of what rhymes of their names? Well, that's what I try to think of when I answer questions like yours. :) I'm a dork, I know. The only things I can come up with are...bok choy and ahoy. Neither are very bad. :) I think you have a winner.

Names are as unique as each person. I am not sure how its pronounced but you chose that name for your son for a reason. A reason I imagine was special to you. If he hates his name or is teased by it have him go by a nickname or middle name. he can change it when hes 18 if he so chooses.

I love strange alternate names, and because no-one else has it it makes it all the more special and beautiful! I have twin boy cousins called Alecto and Amycus and think there great too. I think he will appreciate his name more has he gets older if he doesn't already now. And original and strange names are very hott amoungst the celebritys like pixie and peaches geldoff and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolies baby girl Shiloh Nouvel.
