With all the new technology being developed, we will soon be able to create a new version of humanity. Examples would be neuro-computer interfaces, bio-electric energy created by solar power, ending the aging process, and an extremely durable exoskeletion. What enhancements or alterations do you think would be most important?

When that happens, we will evolve naturally. My idea for selective pressure is intelligence and the brain. Men and women will continue to select one another according to intelligence. They will continue to marry and procreate according to who can best solve differential equations or write symphonies. The problem will be whether the head of the baby can fit through the birth canal, or whether both mother and child will die. I am betting on our future! I am betting that obstetricians will exist in our world to come to deliver our babies. This depends upon the survival of our hospitals and doctors.

LOL. Steve_Geo is 100% wrong. People do not select their mates on the ability to do calculus problems, and people who can do their calculus homework don't have more children than people who do.

Quite the opposite. The children of tomorrow are descended from the people of today who have children (makes sense so far, right?). Women who have careers and educations on average have fewer children than women who don't. The next phase of evolution for us, then, would be that women would be less interested in having careers. LOL. You can imagine that this would probably coincide with a drop in intelligence in the human species, not a gain.

Anyway, if we're talking about enhancements:
1. Eliminate genetically inheritable diseases, including hemophilia, colorblindness, sickle cell anemia, Huntingtons.
2. Remove the appendix
3. Remove the wisdom teeth
4. Muscles to focus the eyes without need for glasses!

Adam and Eve were the smartest humans who ever existed - it's all been downhill since then! Since evolution is just an excuse for people *not* to believe in a Creator God, it has not been, and never will be, proved!

God has given mankind the ability to be creative and to discover new things, as well as the ability to use that which God has intended for good, for evil purposes; but none of it is new to God, for He created everything, and nothing takes Him by surprise - none even the ignorance and illiteracy rampant in government (AKA: public) schools!

"The fool says in his heart, 'There is no God.'" Psalm 14:1. "Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.. . ." and "They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator - who is forever praised. Amen." Romans 1:22,23, 25 (NIV)

If you think about it we are already changing without technology. At the 1900s-1950s the average height of a person was 5'6. Now its up to 5'8 and we aren't developing because its better for us to survive but because women like taller men, when they have offsprings the offspring will end up taller and so on...so we are already changing as we speak.

hopefully, we'll learn to have complete control over the energy in our bodies, and make quantum physics a standard in life. Healing through touch, leaping 30 feet from a standstill, moving electricity and heat from inside our bodies out our figertips to light fires, start engines, or just zap a person for being a retard in the checkout line at walmart.

its not evolution if its man altering himself, evolution is a natural process......but if we were to genetically minipulate ourselfs to a large extent i think the best place to start is to up our resistences to disease, viruses etc and then fucus on durability and aging ...but there wouldnt be much point in making everyone live forever cause were gonna have enough population difficulties in the next century as it is

evolution occurs in small populations...the reason why we dont see it happeneing in humans is because there are too many...9 billion I believe. The next step in human evolution I believe is the end of supersitious beliefs like christianity and Islam
